"Case Management for Adoption & Entrustment: A New Chapter for the Tres Marias"
From Rejection to Belonging: A Journey of Hope and Healing
After more than two years of paperwork, prayers, and patience, three remarkable children affectionately called the “Tres Marias” Camille, Sofie, and Angel, have finally been entrusted to their forever families. This milestone marks not just the end of a long adoption process, but the beginning of a life filled with love, stability, and the warmth of a family they can truly call their own.
A Story of Resilience
Camille, Sofie, and Angel’s journey began with hardship. Rejected by their biological families, they found temporary refuge with the RFVICHI Family, an organization dedicated to nurturing children in need. But temporary care could never replace the permanence of a family’s embrace. Through meticulous case management and unwavering advocacy, the trio’s paths were aligned with families ready to open their hearts and homes.
Sofie was matched with the Guiriba Family,
Camille with the Basilan Family,
Angel with the Camitan Family.
Each family underwent rigorous screening and preparation, ensuring they could provide the safe, loving environment these children deserved.
The Bittersweet Moment of Entrustment
The entrustment ceremony was a touching blend of joy and sorrow. For caregivers and social workers who had grown to love the Tres Marias, saying goodbye brought tears. Yet, those tears were intertwined with hope. “Our hearts ached to let them go,” shared one caregiver, “but we knew this was the day we’d prayed for, the day they’d find their real family.”
During the entrustment, the children’s legal documents, personal belongings, and medical records were formally handed over to their adoptive parents. Equally important were the intangible gifts: trust, memories, and the promise of continued support.
The Road to Forever: Pre-Adoption Monitoring
Adoption is not an endpoint but a journey. RACCO IV-A (Regional Alternative Child Care Office), led by Ma’am Mistal, will oversee a six-month pre-adoption monitoring period. This critical phase ensures the compatibility and well-being of both the children and their new families. Social workers will conduct home visits, interviews, and assessments to confirm that the placements foster mutual growth, safety, and happiness.
Why Adoption Case Management Matters
The journey of the Tres Marias underscores the importance of structured, compassionate adoption processes. Case management ensures that:
Children’s best interests guide every decision,
Families are prepared emotionally, legally, and practically,
Post-placement support safeguards lasting stability.
It’s a reminder that adoption is not just about legal transfers, it’s about weaving lives together with care, intention, and hope.
A Message to the World
To the Guiriba, Basilan, and Camitan Families: thank you for choosing love. To the social workers, caregivers, and advocates: thank you for turning “what if” into “what is.” And to Camille, Sofie, and Angel, may your futures be as bright as the hope you’ve inspired in all of us.
Every child deserves a safe haven. Every family has room to grow. 💞
